Stubbs Set to Return After One-Game Suspension

Maryvale PG Adrian Stubbs is expected to make his return to the hardwood February 5 against Tolleson after fulfilling his one-game suspension.

The 5-foot-10 Senior was ejected from his team’s January 23 loss against Cesar Chavez due to receiving two technical fouls. According to Article 16.3 of the AIA Bylaws, any player ejected from a game must sit out the following contest.

Stubbs one-game suspension should have originally been for the Panthers’ road game against South Mountain, but that game was cancelled according to AZpreps365.com

Instead, Stubbs missed his team’s road matchup against their cross-town rivals, the Trevor Browne Bruins.

Despite Stubbs’ absence, Maryvale took home the 76-65 victory. Senior Guard David Jaramillo stepped up for the Panthers and led his team with 30 points.

Maryvale finished their longest road trip of the season with a 3-1 record. They look forward to hosting the Tolleson Wolverines Thursday.
